چکیده

In this paper, we present the implementation of an integrated time-series data mining environment. Time-series data mining is one of key issues to get useful knowledge from data bases. To execute time-series data mining smoothly, we have designed an environment which integrates time-series pattern extraction methods, rule induction methods and rule evaluation methods with active human-system interaction. After implementing this environment, we have done a case study to mine time-series rules from blood/urine biochemical test data base on chronic hepatitis patients. Then a physician has evaluated and refined his hypothesis on this environment. We discuss the availability of how much support to mine interesting knowledge for an expert.

Risk prediction based on a time series case study: Tazareh coal mine

In this work, the time series modeling was used to predict the Tazareh coal mine risks. For this purpose, initially, a monthly analysis of the risk constituents including frequency index and incidence severity index was performed. Next, a monthly time series diagram related to each one of these indices was for a nine year period of time from 2005 to 2013. After extrusion of the trend, seasonali...

A Rule Discovery Support System for Sequential Medical Data — In the Case Study of a Chronic Hepatitis Dataset —

It is needed for evidence-based medicine to support a medical expert in discovering clinically useful knowledge with data mining techniques. However, the real data on medical test results are severely intractable since they are sequential, large-scale, and ill-defined with many attributes and missing values. This paper discusses how pre-processing should be going and how a rule discovery suppor...

Applying data mining techniques to medical time series: an empirical case study in electroencephalography and stabilometry

One of the major challenges in the medical domain today is how to exploit the huge amount of data that this field generates. To do this, approaches are required that are capable of discovering knowledge that is useful for decision making in the medical field. Time series are data types that are common in the medical domain and require specialized analysis techniques and tools, especially if the...
